The weather wasn't looking particularly inviting, but you don't go to the Lakes for the weather - especially in February!
The rain and the cloud made for a very moody feel, and fantastic saturated colours. I also had my new Lee Big Stopper in my bag and was eager to give it a try. The first image was from my first attempt - stupidly, I had left the ISO on 500, so it was a 60 sec exposure, but I think it works well and I am very happy with it. After that, the rain made it too difficult to keep the filters clear.
The more I use my X Pro1, the more I love it! Who needs an XT1 !!
A day out on the Ravenglass to Dalesgarth railway completed a restful couple of days. I love the Lake District, whatever the weather!

Finally a bit of sun !
Easter Monday - although it was still cold, at least the sun made an appearance. Most of the snow had gone, and a bit of colour had finally returned to the landscape. Decided to go to Lindley Reservoir for a stroll through the woods and along the bank. Saw a beautiful Red Kite out hunting, but couldnt get a picture.
Even though it was sunny, I couldnt help going back to black and white, also making a spooky image - it must be done to the 8 months of winter we seem to have just experienced!

Acoustic Night with the X Pro1
I have been roped into doing the photos for school music nights for a little while now, but this was the first time I could use my X Pro1 and the 18-55 zoom.
I set the ISO to 3200, opened up the aperture and was very pleased with the results!

Still snowy !
The snow is still here so thought I'd try a couple more images.
I also wanted to try out the panoramic option. This proved more difficult than I thought it would. It might be something that I'm doing (or not doing!) but I couldn't seem to get both ends of the image sharp.
The left hand side of this image is fine, but the right hand side is terrible (I was sweeping left to right).

This was probably my most successful attempt. I think I need to put in a bit more practice!
